The Bowline
Purpose: The bowline knot creates a secure, non-slip loop at the end of a rope. It is commonly used for securing a line to a post, cleat, or ring.
Why It’s Important: The bowline is easy to tie and untie, even after being under extreme load, making it perfect for mooring, towing, and securing items on the boat.
Caution: This knot will tend to undo on it’s own when there is no load on the knot and being shaken around. Put an extra half hitch in the end around itself to prevent that.
