Clove Hitch

 

Purpose: The clove hitch is used to attach a fender rope to a post or railing or life line. It’s adjustable and can be quickly tied and untied.

Why It’s Important: This knot is ideal for temporarily securing fenders to the rail or lifelines, making it useful when docking or rafting up with other boats.
